A New Story About Old Friends
The famous detective, Sherlock Holmes and his long-time friend, Dr. Watson went on a hiking trip one time. That evening, they pitched their tent and retired early as they had had a hard day’s hike.
Some hours later, Holmes wakes his old friend.
“Watson,” said Holmes, “look up in the sky and tell me what you see.”
Watson replied, “I see millions of stars.”
“What does that tell you?” asked Holmes.
Watson ponders for a moment. “Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three. Theologically, it’s evident the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you?” asked Watson.
Holmes stares at Watson for a moment, then says, “Watson, [...] someone has stolen our tent!”
