Greeting cards by Different Artists

The Sandy Museum gift shop has a variety of beautiful cards by local artists as well as some donated, fine-quality, specialty craft cards such as the Papyrus brand. Some of the latter are sold at much higher prices in other venues. Among the newer card vendors is Carolee Carrara. She is a children's author who found a need to illustrate her own books. Early efforts with colored pencils were disappointing, so Carolee started researching and learned to illustrate books while also learning to use an iPad. The app used to create illustrations is called "Procreate." She added, "Well everything you could possibly need to know is on YouTube!" Carolee's Email is: caroleecarrara@gmail.com [Hood View News, July 2022, "Carolee Carrara proves it's never too late to start," by Samantha Sied] Another new card artist to be featured in the gift shop is Lori Lauber, who brought embossed, 3-D-folded cards, and cards with intricate paper quilling embellishments. They are unique and beautiful. Greg Roll prints realistic photographic art of wildlife and majestic scenery into larger formats, but also makes postcards as well as folded cards. Roll's website is RollPhotography.net, email: gregroll46@gmail.com, and Facebook is at Roll Photography LLC. He also has a catalog available for perusing or purchase in the museum gift shop. John Masear also makes larger-format, digitally-enhanced photography, often light-infused, and prints smaller cards of the same pictures. He is on Instagram:@thelightriver. Sandi Stanwood's cards are made by photographing her acrylic or watercolor paintings. She has a wide variety of subjects and can be found online at Sandi's Workshop or at facebook.com/sandis.art. Lea Topliff's cards are copied from her original oil paintings done from photographs of historic buildings from the Sandy area. She also sells large art prints of these buildings. Linda Bergman cards are also made from photographs. Melinda McCrossen uses enhanced photographic art and photo manipulation to make cards, postcards, and magnetic cards. You can learn more at pdxmelinda.com or pdxmelinda@gmail.com . The gift shop also has value cards made of color photos of raffle quilts of past years. The museum has a wide array of artistic talent and cards for all the greeting categories for your enjoyment and convenience. The gift shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, so come on in to look around and find that special card for your occasion, gift, or collection!!?
